If it's a spectacle that you're after, then the Lion King has it in spades with breathtaking staging and wonderful costumes. Playing at The Lyceum Theatre in the heart of the West End, this jaw-dropping piece of theatre tells the epic story of Simba as he attempts to reclaim his kingdom. The Book of Mormon
Still going strong after several years on Broadway and in London, the multiple award-winning Book of Mormon has been described as 'musical comedy heaven' by Time Out New York. The uplifting musical, which was written by the men behind South Park, centres around a couple of missionaries who are sent from their relatively comfortable surroundings in Salt Lake City to Uganda where they are tasked with spreading the word of the Mormon church. Continuously hilarious and a West End staple, The Book of Mormon has become one of the best-reviewed musicals on both sides of the Atlantic.
The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia?
Currently playing at the Royal Haymarket is 'The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia?', a darkly comic award-winning play starring Damian Lewis. The play tells the story of a man named Martin, who despite his massively successful career as an architect, sees his life turned upside-down when he confesses to his best friend that he has fallen in love with Sylvia...who happens to be a goat. Scooping the 2002 Best Play Tony Award, 'The Goat' is another masterpiece courtesy of the writer of 'Who's Afraid Of Virginia Woolf?'.
