National Book Tokens are plastic gift cards.
How to redeem: They are accepted in thousands of bookshops including independents, Waterstones, WHSmith, Blackwells and Easons and can be used online on the fantastic Foyles, Blackwell's and Stanfords websites in the UK, and on the Dubray Books, O'Mahoney's and Blackwell's websites in Ireland. They last 24 months from last use, including balance enquiry. If you find a token and fear it is over 2 years since you used it, you should contact Book Tokens Ltd who will re-activate it for you. There is an ‘expired card form’ on the website.
How to balance check: The website has a balance checker. You need the PIN in order to carry out a balance check.
Prior to 2010, book tokens were paper gift vouchers which never expire so are still valid tender today
