Gift cards on Cardyard are supplied by our sellers who are members of the public. We don't have direct access to the gift card systems like a retailer, and have to rely on the seller for assistance if something goes wrong. As time goes by it gets harder to engage with the seller who themselves often lose access to the retailer, or whoever supplied them. So we have to apply a reasonable time period after which we can no longer guarantee the gift card balance.
We find that buyers who experience problems with their gift card after 6 months or so have often spent the cards themselves, or a family member has spent it, but it becomes increasingly difficult to prove.
